What’s new at French Funeral Home?

Most significantly, our business has expanded over the years from the original French Funeral Home. With the addition of Lawson-Miller Chapel and Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City, we are now French Funeral Homes and Crematory. We are continually updating our facilities and vehicles to best serve the community, and we strive to provide the technology that you expect and deserve.

We are proud members of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. Chuck and I are both “CFSP accredited,” meaning we are Certified Funeral Service Practitioners through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. This organization provides a voluntary certification program to funeral service practitioners who wish to show families their commitment to continued exceptional service and life-long learning. As such, we travel to continuing education meetings and technical seminars throughout the year, keeping up with changes and improvements in our profession.

Recently, when our staff talked me into creating a Facebook page, I wasn’t too thrilled. I thought maybe it wasn’t the right thing to do for a funeral director, but boy was I wrong! People seem to love our Facebook page and visiting with us there. I invite you to give our Facebook page a try. We sometimes have to push ourselves into change and the fear of the unknown. In doing so, I have found a whole new circle of friends.

People often ask me, “How do you do this work?”

My quick response is, “I have a lot of help.” I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Our wonderful full-time and part-time staff members keep everything running at all of our locations. I am so blessed! Meet our Staff and you will understand why I feel this way.
