BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUPS

Monthly Support Group for anyone regardless of where you are in your own grief journey. Meeting the first Monday of each month, 10-11:30am. Co-Sponsored by VNA Hospice and The French Family. Parent Support group meeting the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month 7-8:30pm. This group is for parents who have lost a child only. Sponsored by The French Family. Meetings are held at Grace Chapel, 2104 W US Hwy 40, Brazil. If you have questions about either group, please call Cindy at 446-2206.

Reverend Bradley K. Staley

Reverend Bradley K. Staley, 66, of Brazil, Indiana was called to God December 23, 2013, at his home, with all of his loving family by his side.

He was born in Vigo County, Indiana to Virginia (Higgins) Staley and Bradley M. Staley on June 9, 1947.

He obtained his GED and graduated from Indiana State University with an Associates of Science Degree and became an Electronic Technician.

Bradley studied for 10 years for his ministry certificate and had to take a short time off while battling cancer. He was ordained on August 4, 2013, in Orleans, Indiana and has been serving as the Assistant Pastor at Jackson Street Wesleyan Church.

Bradley served in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge so he could care for his daughter, Michelle, when she was 2 years old.

He worked various jobs until hired at American Cable Vision, now Time Warner, for 15 years before going to work at Eli Lilly, in Clinton, for 10 years. He took early retirement due to his illness.

Bradley always loved and served God with pride. One of his proudest moments was when he baptized his grandson Bradley Scott in the summer of 2013. He had many hobbies he enjoyed doing with his family and short road trips with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy Target mother-in-law Barbara Ann Brown Buchanan, step-father-in-law, Charles “Buck” H. Buchanan and a niece Cindy Venus.

He married Elaine Kathan Treash March 17, 1978. Bradley adopted her 2 sons Raymond and Eddie. Together they raised their 3 children: Raymond D. Staley and wife Jess, Eddie Staley and fiancé Jamie and Michele Jean (Staley) Moody; grandchildren: Trent, Kaleb, Mason, Zach, Bradley, Lonnie, Miranda, Jamie, Daytona, Dustin, Payton and Skyelynn; special adopted children: Tamara (Pat) Houser, Kim (Joe) Miller, Michael Gonser and their families; sister: Mary (Jack) Schaffner; three brothers: Jay (Sue) Staley who is Bradley’s twin, Rod Staley and Jim (Pat) Doyle; father-in-law George E. Treash; sisters-in-law Kay (Steve) Mattox and Janet Treash; step-sister-in-law Pam Buck; brothers-in-law Wesley Treash, Bruce (Stacy) Treash, step-brother-in-law Tom Buck, brother-in-law Dale (Christine) Treash; special sisters: Sharon (Rick) Gonser, Linda (Dan) Pierce, Diana (Tony) Edmonson; special brother-in-law Clyde Grigsby Jr.; special Aunt Javetta K. Brown; special cousin Jamie Higgins; several more nieces, nephews, church family and extended family members.

Funeral Information

Services will be at the Jackson Street Wesleyan Church, 701 West Jackson Street, Brazil, Indiana, Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00am with Pastors Dennis Holly, Estell Stewart and Rev. Mark Eckard officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by members of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United States Navy. Visitation will be at the church, Sunday, from 4-8pm.
