Wilma Ruth IcenogleSeptember 21, 1932 - January 22, 2012
Wilma R. Icenogle, 79, of Terre Haute and formerly of Brazil, went home to be with the Lord as the church bells were ringing Sunday morning at 10:45 am, on January 22, 2012. She was born September 21, 1932 in Clay County the daughter of Tom and Bertha (Berry) Newport. Wilma was a lifelong member of Peniel United Methodist Church in Brazil. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was “employed” as a stay at home mom for many years until she went to work at CBS Records in the press room and then for VCSC. She was also a member of the FF Gold Club and a world traveler, a member of the YMCA Splash Club and a 245 pint donor at the Indiana Blood Center. Wilma was united in marriage to Lloyd O. Swearingen who preceded her in death in 1967 and to Harold Icenogle, who preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers, Bobby, Richard (Pony), Harold Max and an infant baby sister. Survivors include her children, Martha Swearingen Nicosia (Marty) of Terre Haute, Trixy Brill (Jeff) of Dela Field, Wisconsin, Sally Pullen (Bob) of Terre Haute, Joe Swearingen (Dena) of Freedom and Georgianna Milner (Brian) of Terre Haute; stepdaughter, Annette Lindeman; grandchildren, Theresa Goodwin (Rusty), Lloyd Edwards, Andy Swearingen, Jennifer Brill, Rebecca Bennett (Mike), Heather Brill, Nathan Pullen, Tiffany Milner, Nick Pullen and Luke Milner; step-granddaughter, Charity Shanks; great-grandchildren, Ryne Goodwin, Madison Edwards, Avery Goodwin and Jeffrey Dale (JD) White; sisters, Barb Thomas, Pat Campbell (Dwayne), Carolyn Cain, Betty Matherly, Mary Jane Cooksey and Janet Stearley; many nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationServices will be held Friday at 10:45 am at Peniel UMC, N Kennedy’s Crossing Rd, Brazil with Rev. Richard Pippin officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at French Funeral Home from 4-8 pm and again Friday one hour prior to services at Peniel. Donations Information
