Journey's is a free Bereavement Support Group

A 6 week course will begin each Monday, June 4 through July 9, 2012 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., at The Renaissance, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil. Argyll L. Burns

Argyll L. Burns, 76, of Brazil, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Cloverleaf Health Care surrounded by his family following his battle with cancer.

Argyll was born in Clay County, IN May 19, 1935 the son of Clifford and Florence (Liechty) Burns. Argyll was a 1953 graduate of Staunton High School. He married Roberta Ellen Hatfield on May 5, 1956. They resided the first 9 years of their married life west of Bridgeton before moving to Clay County. He farmed for many years and retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) in 1998 after 31 years of service.

Argyll was an active and devoted member of Berea Christian Church. He enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Argyll is survived by his wife Roberta; daughter Cheryl Williams and husband Dave; two sons: Randy Burns and wife Debbie and Steve Burns and wife Pam all of Brazil; 6 grandchildren: Dr. Austin Burns and wife Brianna, Chandra Thatcher and husband Garrett, Amber Williams and fiancé Seth Passfield, Matt Williams, Tyler Burns, and Chloe Burns; a great granddaughter Ashlyn Burns; a sister Alberta Anderson and husband Terry of Indianapolis and a brother Robert Burns and wife Sandi of Tucson, AZ as well as many extended family members.

Funeral Information

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 1:00pm with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-9pm and again Thursday from noon until time of services.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berea Christian Church.
