Clarence L. Dayhuff

Clarence L. Dayhuff, 89 of Brazil died on March 5, 2010 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.

He was born in Owen County on August 5, 1920 the son of Roscoe and Eldora Alice Fiscus Dayhuff. He was raised by his grandfather, Tylor Fiscus. He graduated from Coal City High School.

Clarence was a Navy Veteran of WWII, serving from 1943-1945. In November of 1941 Clarence and Beulah Sheese Dayhuff were united in marriage. They were married for 64 years before her death in March of 2005.

He worked as a machinist during his working years including working at Twigg Industries. He attended Fairview Christian Church.

Survivors include his one daughter, Sally Freeman of Zephyr Hills, FL; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Christine) Freeman, Mark Freeman, Ericka Freeman and Jeannie Freeman; three great-grandchildren all of Florida; two brothers in law, Marvin Sheese and Earl David Sheese and one sister in law, Rosella Taylor and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Evelyn; one sister and one brother.

Funeral Information

Graveside services will be held Monday at 1:00pm at Fiscus Cemetery, outside of Coal City. Pastor Warren Whittington will preside over services. Services were entrusted to French Funeral Home.
