William Harvey Couch

William Harvey Couch, 66, of Clay City, died February 27, 2010 at home following a battle with cancer.

He was born June 21, 1943, in New Castle, IN to Gerald H. and Catherine Clara Bell (Haag) Couch.

Bill attended school at Lemon-Monroe High School in Middletown, Ohio. He married Gloria Jean Tanner June 14, 1962. They lived in Morristown, IN for 17 years before moving to Greenfield, IN. He worked as a tool and die maker for Elmco Engineering in Beech Grove, IN until retiring in 2005. In his free time he enjoyed playing guitar, working on the computer, horse racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Lois Jean Couch.

He is survived by his wife Gloria; sons: William Couch Jr. and wife Caroline, John Paul Couch and wife Gale and Gerald Couch and wife Jocelyn; daughters: Lorraine Greene and husband Charles and AnnaMarie Contis and Steve Nees; 12 grandchildren: Cassandra, Brian, Jarred, Helen, Kendra, Nicholas, Jerrica, Jesse, Jerilyn, Celeste, Cheyenne and Chandler; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren: Steven and Brayden; a brother Robert Couch and 2 sisters: Geraldine Wardlow and Patricia McBee as well as several extended family members.

Funeral Information

Services for Mr. Couch will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 2:00pm with Pastor Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8pm.
