Bertha E. Greene Bertha Greene, 96, of Knightsville and formerly of Cloverland, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 12:50 AM at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.
She was born in Seelyville, April 20, 1911 the daughter of John and Bertha Grus LaClave.
She resided in her home in Cloverland for over 70 years and was the last of a family of seven children. She worked at ISU as the head of pastries, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Seelyville. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, and going to yard sales. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Paul Greene in 1966; and her oldest son, John Greene in 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Bill Gurchie of Tavares, Florida; son, Paul Greene and daughter-in-law Ruth of Staunton, Indiana; daughter, Mary Lou and son-in-law Jim Filip of Silverton, Colorado; son, Robert Greene and daughter-in-law Nancy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; daughter, Sue and son-in-law Carl Schenck of Thorntown, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 11:00 am at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave, with Father Dom Chukwudi officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2008 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and prior to services on Saturday.
