Heaven's Path

My best friend went to sleep today.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
Were of her younger, puppy years,
And what fun we had.

Today, there was no "I love you gaze,"
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our happy days in all the
shows we went to, and times we had together

We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
